As part of the measures to ensure law and order under the instructions of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the National Guard has strengthened the security of correctional institutions across the country.

Since the beginning of 2025, 36 cases of confiscation of prohibited items have been recorded at transport checkpoints of the Penal Correction System.
Operational analysis shows that the introduction of round-the-clock patrols of adjacent territories by National Guard servicemen, in cooperation with police departments and the Department of the Penal Correction System, has produced positive results in blocking channels for smuggling prohibited items into correctional facilities.

During this period, 128 smuggling attempts were prevented, including 7 involving the use of unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).

A notable example of vigilance was demonstrated by Private Adlet Nurlanuly, a rifleman of the inspection group guarding Facility No. 55.

On November 11, 2025, in the city of Lenger, at approximately 3:00 p.m., during a vehicle inspection at the facility entrance, Private Nurlanuly discovered prohibited items cleverly hidden inside a cement bag.

As a result of his careful and professional actions, the following items were seized:

• Mobile phones — 10 units

• SIM cards — 11 units

• Chargers — 2 units

It is worth noting that around one thousand National Guard servicemen are deployed daily to maintain security and prevent the smuggling or transfer of prohibited items into correctional institutions.

This incident highlights the high level of vigilance, professionalism, and discipline of National Guard servicemen who, in close coordination with the Penal Correction System, ensure security and legality within correctional facilities.
