Prague, 13 November 2025 – A Kazakh delegation headed by Mr. Kanat Iskakov, Vice Minister of Culture and Information of the Republic of Kazakhstan, took part in the High-Level International Religious Freedom or Belief Alliance Conference, held on 12-13 November 2025 in Prague.

The event, organized under the auspices of the President of the Czech Republic Petr Pavel, brought together representatives of religions and confessions from across the world.

The Conference programme included, among other activities, a panel session titled “Freedom of Religion in Eurasia: Religious Freedom and Resilience in a Transforming Region,” with the participation of representatives from Georgia, Kazakhstan, Moldova and Uzbekistan. In his remarks, Mr. Iskakov presented the audience with Kazakhstan’s model of interfaith and interethnic harmony, rooted in the rich culture and history of the Kazakh people. He also highlighted Kazakhstan’s efforts to advance interreligious dialogue at the international level. In particular, the head of the Kazakh delegation informed participants about the role and achievements of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, which over more than 20 years has evolved into a global platform promoting tolerance, mutual understanding and peaceful coexistence among diverse confessions.

This year, the Czech Republic, represented by Ambassador-at-Large and Special Envoy for Holocaust Issues, Interfaith Dialogue and Freedom of Religion Mr. Robert Řehák, took part in the work of the Congress for the first time. The Czech representative emphasized the unique nature of the Congress as a platform that gathers representatives of various religions at one table.

The delegates of the Conference reaffirmed that dialogue between religions and confessions remains one of the essential conditions for the sustainable development of humanity.
