Seoul, October 30, 2025 – A concert titled “Kazakhstan – Sounds of the Great Steppe” was held in Seoul. The event gathered more than 230 attendees, including representatives of government and public organizations, cultural and business circles of Korea, as well as international guests.

In his welcoming remarks, Ambassador of Kazakhstan Nurgali Arystanov emphasized that culture is one of the main bridges of friendship and mutual understanding between the peoples of Kazakhstan and Korea. He noted: “Tonight is a celebration of music, dance, and fashion that reflects the spirit of Kazakhstan through sound, movement, and creative expression. Culture knows no borders. It unites us, builds trust, and strengthens ties among people.”

The Kazakh diplomat also highlighted that Kazakhstan and Korea are actively enhancing cooperation not only in humanitarian areas but also in political, parliamentary, regional, and economic fields. Tourism is likewise showing steady growth. An increasing number of Korean citizens are exploring Kazakhstan’s top destinations — Almaty, Astana, and Shymkent — all of which enjoy direct air connections with Korea. This positive trend continues in 2025: from January to July, 37,737 Kazakhstanis visited Korea, an increase of 19.4% compared to the same period last year, while 17,202 Korean citizens traveled to Kazakhstan, marking a 28% rise. These figures underscore the growing mutual interest and dynamic development of tourism exchange between the two countries.

The stage featured performances by the Mangystau Regional Philharmonic named after Murat Oskinbayev — including the Abyl Tarakuly Folk Instruments Orchestra and the “Zhorğa” dance ensemble. The fashion brand “Tarbiya” also presented a collection blending national traditions with contemporary design.

Artists showcased the richness of Kazakh choreography, conveying through movement the spirit of the steppe, the music, pride, and heartfelt character of the Kazakh people.

The event also included an exhibition of traditional crafts, featuring works by artisans specializing in leather goods, jewelry, felt products, and bone carving.

Guests highly praised the concert and expressed gratitude for the opportunity to experience Kazakhstan’s rich cultural heritage.
