14 November 2025 - The Regional Office of the “Atameken” National Chamber of Entrepreneurs in Almaty hosted a meeting between representatives of the business communities of Kazakhstan and Malaysia. The Malaysian delegation was led by Martin Ang, President of the Malaysian Consortium of Mid-Tier Companies (MCMTC).

The delegation included leading Malaysian companies in electronics, HoReCa and food production, engineering, construction, logistics, digital marketing, and distribution, such as Marrybrown, Julie’s Manufacturing, Christee Holding, Tesomac, Cape EMS, BodiBasixs, among others.

As noted by the meeting’s moderator, Serik Amirov, Special Representative of the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan in ASEAN, MCMTC unites mid-tier companies with annual revenues ranging from 20–50 million to 500 million Malaysian ringgit. Although they make up only 1% of registered enterprises in Malaysia, they contribute around 40% of the national GDP and account for 16% of the country’s workforce, actively promoting Malaysian technologies in global markets.

MCMTC President Martin Ang emphasized the strong potential of Central Asia for Malaysian businesses and expressed interest in developing long-term partnerships.

Oleg Rudenko, Deputy Director of the Regional Office of Atameken, presented opportunities for support in establishing business contacts and attracting investments and technologies to Kazakhstan.

Following the B2B sessions, the parties reached preliminary agreements on further cooperation, the implementation of joint projects, the possible opening of representative offices in Kazakhstan, and expanding the presence of Kazakhstani companies in the Southeast Asian market with the support of MCMTC.
