Muscat, November 18, 2025 – The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sultanate of Oman Aidarbek Tumatov held a meeting with the Minister of Heritage and Tourism of Oman, Said Al-Mahrouki.

During the meeting, the sides discussed the current state and prospects for expanding bilateral cooperation in the field of tourism. Ambassador Tumatov highlighted the high level of political understanding between Kazakhstan and Oman, noting that cultural and tourism partnerships play an important role in strengthening friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries.

Both parties expressed mutual interest in intensifying tourism exchanges, including increasing tourist flows, sharing experience in tourism infrastructure development, digitalization of the tourism sector, and promoting joint initiatives aimed at popularizing historical and cultural heritage.

The ambassador also noted the positive dynamics in tourist exchanges between Kazakhstan and Oman. In particular, he emphasized that «Salam Air», which launched this year’s summer season with three weekly flights on the Muscat–Almaty–Muscat route, increased the frequency to four and five flights per week by the end of the season, reflecting the growing interest of Omani tourists in Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, the existing one-month visa-free regime for holders of ordinary passports of both countries creates favorable conditions for the further growth of tourist flows and the strengthening of interpersonal ties.

Special attention was also given to establishing direct contacts between relevant tour operators and tourism educational institutions, as well as organizing handicraft exhibitions and gastronomic festivals.

Minister Al-Mahrouki welcomed the initiatives of the Kazakh side and expressed readiness for further practical dialogue, emphasizing Oman’s interest in deepening its partnership with Kazakhstan in the spheres of tourism and historical heritage.
