The Consulate General of Kazakhstan in Izmir, together with activists from the Izmir Qazaq Jastary student movement, took part in a charity event to collect mandarins for children suffering from leukemia.

During the event, 700 kilograms of mandarins grown on LÖSEV’s special plantation were harvested. The collected fruit will be delivered to children undergoing cancer treatment and their families as part of the foundation’s support program.

Background: The LÖSEV Foundation (Foundation for Children with Leukemia) was established on 8 November 1998 by pediatric hematologist/oncologist Üstün Ezer after he observed that young leukemia patients and their families needed not only medical treatment but also daily-life assistance, psychological and educational support.
