The Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Georgia, Malik Murzalin, met with the Minister of Justice of Georgia, Paata Salia.

The parties discussed issues related to the current status of investigations and the further procedure for the extradition of citizens of the Republic of Kazakhstan who are being prosecuted in criminal cases.

The Ambassador also raised the issue of the return of national passports to the Embassy by persons who have acquired Georgian citizenship, in the context of the prohibition of dual citizenship established in Kazakhstan.

The Georgian Minister of Justice shared his experience of socialising prisoners during their sentences and after their release.

At the end of the meeting, the parties confirmed their readiness to provide the broadest possible legal assistance on a mutual basis.

The meeting was attended by Deputy Minister of Justice of Georgia Beka Dzhamashvili, Head of the Special Penitentiary Service of Georgia Giorgi Pataridze and Head of the Consular Section of the Embassy Olzhas Ilyussizov.
