On the eve of the New Year holidays, the territory of military unit 5573 of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the capital was transformed into a real ice town—bright, fairytale-like and warmly festive.

The initiators of this unusual project were the conscript servicemen themselves. The soldiers approached the unit’s command with the idea of creating a festive atmosphere for the personnel with their own efforts. The initiative was supported, and from that moment creativity, hard work and team spirit came into play.

The ice and snow sculptures created by the guardsmen reflected symbols of different years. Particular attention was drawn to the figures of the snake and the horse—symbols of the outgoing and the coming years. Each sculpture was crafted with great attention to detail and showcased the creative approach of its authors.

The soldiers also decorated the main symbol of the holiday—the New Year tree—on their own. Illumination, garlands and light elements added warmth and a touch of magic, filling the unit’s territory with an atmosphere of anticipation and wonder.

This ice town became not just a decoration, but a vivid example of how initiative, command support and unit cohesion can turn ordinary winter days into a true celebration. Even within the strict rhythm of army life, there was room for creativity, sincere emotions and New Year spirit.
