He received initial military training in Omsk and was sent to the front in October 1942. During the war years, he participated in the liberation of Stalingrad, Kursk, Poland. He was seriously wounded in the leg in the port of Danzig, ended the war in Germany and returned home in September 1945. For his heroism at the front, he was awarded the orders "Red Star", "Great Patriotic War" I, II degrees, "for Courage", "for victory over Germany", "hero of the Soviet Union Marshal G. K.
