Summing up the past year, the Head of State assessed 2025 as a period of important economic and institutional changes for Kazakhstan. According to the President, large-scale and significant events have taken place in the life of the country in one year. Among them, the economic growth of more than 6 percent was especially noted.

The gross domestic product has reached 300 billion US dollars, and the per capita figure has exceeded 15 thousand dollars. This is a record result not only for Kazakhstan, but also for the entire region. The Head of State, while generally positively assessing the work done, stressed that there is no room for complacency. There are still many problems waiting to be solved.

The President noted that high inflation reduces the effectiveness of work aimed at improving the well-being of citizens. In this regard, the Government and regional leaders were tasked with conducting systematic and effective work to strengthen the country's socio-economic foundation.

In addition, the main result of the past year was noted as Kazakhstan's permanent turn towards the implementation of reforms. The country's modernization process is underway, and a common understanding has emerged in society that radical changes are necessary for a bright future for the younger generation.

Touching upon global trends, the Head of State noted that changes in world politics also affect the country's development. It was noted that the work of building a society based on the principles of justice, law and order, and hard work continues in Kazakhstan, and work in this direction will be further intensified in the new year.

During the interview, issues related to the new Tax Code were also raised. The President, acknowledging that the tax reform has caused heated debate in society, said that this step is necessary to ensure sustainable economic growth. The main goal of the new Tax Code is to fundamentally reform the tax system, basing it on transparent and understandable principles.

The head of state has instructed to lower the upper limit of the value-added tax, and to prioritize partnership over control in the tax system. Mutual responsibility between the state, business, and citizens will become the main principle.

The President described tax payment as a modern public contract, noting that it directly affects the development of infrastructure, the creation of a safe environment, and the establishment of social justice. It was also emphasized that the formation of a tax culture is an effective mechanism for combating corruption.

In general, the issues raised in the interview indicate that systematic reforms aimed at the long-term development of Kazakhstan continue and that the state's strategic goals are clear.
