Majilis deputy and member of the People's Party of Kazakhstan faction Islam Sunkar visited the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan Research University as part of a working trip to the regions.

Current issues in higher education and science were discussed. Specifically, they touched on enhancing the status of faculty, improving their social standing, improving mechanisms for supporting research, enhancing the quality of student education, and modernizing the educational process.

Particular attention was paid to the issues of the size of scholarships, social support, provision of dormitories and the procedure for distributing educational grants.

In turn, Islam Sunkar emphasized that the development of education and science is one of the strategic priorities of state policy, and also announced that the proposals received will be sent to the relevant government agencies and considered in the Majilis.

At the end of the meeting, the parties noted the importance of open dialogue and expressed their readiness to further develop cooperation and maintain constructive interaction.
