Dear city residents, the Shymkent City Environmental Quality and Control Department warns you about the increased incidence of natural gas poisoning during the heating season and urges you to comply with safety requirements.
Carbon monoxide (or carbon monoxide, CO) is a colorless, odorless, and extremely dangerous gas. It is therefore difficult to detect, but it can be poisonous and fatal.
🔥 Safety measures
1. Regularly check heating appliances (oven, gas stove, gas water heater).
• Inspect and service furnaces, boilers, and gas stoves on a timely basis;
• Clean chimneys at least once a year.
2. Provide ventilation
• Make sure that ventilation ducts (chimneys) and exhaust fans in the house are open;
• Do not block the ventilation holes.
3. Use devices correctly
• Do not use the gas stove simply for heating;
Do not leave gas appliances open.
4. Install a gas alarm.
• Installing a gas alarm at home that detects toxic gas will help you detect danger early.
Regularly monitor the operation of the gas valve.
