The Astana City Sambo Championship was held in the capital of Kazakhstan. Servicemen of the National Guard of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan from the Astana garrison delivered strong performances at this prestigious competition, demonstrating a high level of physical fitness and professional training.

According to the tournament results, Senior Specialist (Senior Instructor) of the Combat Training Division of military unit 5573, Senior Sergeant Bekzat Altynbaev, won the gold medal in the 88 kg weight category, confidently defeating his opponents.

Another gold medal for the team was secured by Senior Soldier (Senior Flamethrower Operator) of the Flamethrower, Incendiary and Special Means Employment Division, Corporal Zhandos Seitenov, who claimed first place in the over 98 kg weight category.

The bronze medal in the 79 kg weight category was won by Senior Sports Instructor of the Training Center of the National Guard Sports Team, Corporal Aiboba Azatbek.

Based on their performances, Senior Sergeant Bekzat Altynbaev and Corporal Zhandos Seitenov successfully passed qualification trials and earned spots at the Kazakhstan Sambo Championship, which will take place from February 8 to 11 in the city of Karaganda.

The successful performance of the National Guard servicemen at the capital’s championship once again confirms the high level of sports training of the personnel and their commitment to representing the National Guard with dignity at national-level competitions.
