Ohrid, January 20, 2026 – Ambassador of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Burshakov attended the annual reception for the diplomatic corps hosted in the city of Ohrid on behalf of the President of North Macedonia Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova.

The traditional event was attended by representatives of the Presidential Administration, the Government, the Parliament, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, business, media, civil society, as well as foreign ambassadors and heads of missions of international organizations.

In her speech, President G.Siljanovska-Davkova emphasized the key role of diplomacy as an instrument of peace, dialogue and trust-building. The Head of State expressed deep gratitude to foreign diplomats for their partnership in addressing complex international challenges, noting their commitment to negotiations and the pursuit of mutual understanding.

Special attention in the address was paid to the country’s European perspective: the President stated that North Macedonia’s national identity is its strength and a valuable contribution to the diversity of the European Union. In conclusion, she wished the entire diplomatic community a fruitful year dedicated to strengthening a peaceful future.

During informal conversations at the reception, President of North Macedonia G.Siljanovska-Davkova warmly recalled her visit to Kazakhstan in 2025, stressing that the visits that took place in May last year were an important milestone in the development of bilateral relations. Addressing Ambassador of Kazakhstan Satybaldy Burshakov, she highlighted her vivid impressions from the trip and expressed interest in the current progress of implementing the agreements reached as a result of the visit.
