On January 22, 2026, in Davos, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev signed the Charter of the Peace Council, established on the initiative of US President Donald Trump. Along with the President of Kazakhstan, the signing ceremony was attended by leaders and representatives of 18 countries. Kassym-Jomart Tokayev was one of the first to receive an official invitation from Donald Trump to join the newly created World Gas Council, and Kazakhstan was invited to become one of the founding states.
