January 28, 2026, Montreal, ICAO HQ. In coordination with the Office of the President of the Council of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Kazakhstan to ICAO, Mr. Timur Tlegenov, addressed Statement in the regular session of the ICAO Council.

In accordance with ICAO Council Decision No. C-DEC-234/2 dated 12 March 2025, the Kazakhstan delegation informed the Council of the progress of the investigation into the aviation incident involving an Azerbaijan Airlines aircraft that occurred on 25 December 2024 in Aktau, Republic of Kazakhstan.

The statement was heard by the President of the Council, Council members, the Secretariat of the Organization, as well as representatives of observer States on the ICAO Council and relevant international aviation bodies.
