On 3 February 2026, H.E. T.Primbetov, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Sovereign Order of Malta, met at the Magistral Palace with H.E. Ambassador G.Cantini, Secretary General for Foreign Affairs of the Sovereign Order of Malta and H.E. Ambassador P.Ferrara, Diplomatic Adviser to the Order’s Supreme Advisory Council.

The Ambassador briefed his interlocutors on key domestic political developments in Kazakhstan, noting that the country has entered a new phase of political transformation linked to conceptual amendments to the Constitution. He underlined that the constitutional reform is a continuation of the modernization agenda pursued by President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, aimed at strengthening state institutions and advancing reforms in the interests of Kazakhstan’s multi-ethnic and multi-confessional society.

The leadership of the Sovereign Order of Malta received the information with close attention and expressed support for the reform course being implemented in Kazakhstan.

The parties also reviewed the state of bilateral relations and prospects for closer cooperation. They reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening dialogue and practical collaboration, including within the framework of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions, as well as in the humanitarian sphere. A number of potential joint initiatives were discussed with a view to deepening cooperation in these areas.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to maintain regular contacts to coordinate efforts and ensure steady progress in relations between Kazakhstan and the Sovereign Order of Malta.
