Stockholm, 4 February 2026 – Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Kingdom of Sweden, Olzhas Suleimenov, held a meeting with Mr. Karim Haggag, Director of the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

During the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated Mr. Haggag on his appointment as Director of the Institute. The mutual interest in developing constructive dialogue and strengthening cooperation between Kazakhstan and SIPRI was reaffirmed. The long-standing history of cooperation between Kazakhstan and the Institute, as well as SIPRI’s strong expert capacity in international security, disarmament, and conflict prevention, was noted. The participants agreed to maintain regular contact and continue exchanging views on issues of mutual interest.
