*Comprehensive modernization of the country's political system is the demand of the times*

Deputy Mayor of Shymkent Sarsen Kuranbek held a meeting at the Central Asian Innovation University to discuss and explain the draft new Constitution. Faculty and students from the university participated in the event. During the meeting, informative presentations were given on the topic "The Draft New Constitution: Today's Changes—Tomorrow's Development."
During the meeting, it was noted that constitutional reform is an important step aimed at modernizing the country's political system in line with the demands of the times, increasing the effectiveness of public administration, and strengthening trust between society and the government.
Sarsen Kuranbek emphasized that the current Constitution was adopted during the formation of Kazakhstan as an independent state and has fully fulfilled its historical mission. At the same time, he noted that changes in the geopolitical situation, the increasing complexity of international relations, the rapid development of science and technology, and growing public demand require a new approach to the legal system.
"To enhance the country's global competitiveness and strengthen domestic potential and institutional resilience, it is necessary to adapt the Constitution to modern requirements. This is an important step aimed at further sustainable development of the state," the Deputy Akim noted.
The event also featured presentations by Erlan Zulmatuly, First Vice-Rector of the Central Asian Innovation University and PhD in Agricultural Sciences; Ainur Abdikerimova, Head of the Law Department and PhD in Law; and Botabek Imashev, PhD in Law. The speakers emphasized that development is impossible without stability and a solid legal foundation.
At the end of the meeting, participants noted the importance of constitutional reform for the country's future, emphasized the need to improve legal literacy among young people and strengthen civic engagement, and expressed support for the draft new Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
