Speaking at an expanded meeting of the Government, President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted that the country has entered a transitional period and large-scale political changes are being implemented.

According to the Head of State, the process of exchanging opinions in society regarding the Constitution did not begin yesterday, these discussions have been ongoing for more than six months. A Constitutional Commission consisting of 130 people was created to systematically examine and evaluate all proposals.

The norms included in the draft of the new Constitution ensure the logic and consistency of the development of the political system of Kazakhstan. This document is based mainly on the concept of "Strong President - Influential Parliament - Accountable Government", Kassym-Jomart Tokayev noted.

In his speech, the President emphasized that the reforms will serve the stability and development of the country, as well as strengthen mutual responsibility between state authorities and society.
