Today in the capital, the country's leading socio-political forces united in the National Coalition "For a Just and Progressive People's Constitution of Kazakhstan!" It includes representatives of five leading political parties and more than 300 public organizations representing the interests of millions of citizens.
The participants of the meeting noted that the draft new Constitution will fundamentally renew the architecture of the political system in accordance with the new demands of society. This will ensure the stable functioning of all branches of government.
As the Speaker of the Majilis, Head of the Nationwide Coalition, Yerlan Koshanov, noted, the New Constitution is a truly historic document. It puts people first and foremost, and it is clear that the main wealth of the state is not underground resources, but an educated young generation. This is the golden thread of the large-scale changes undertaken by the President. Now it is being ratified at the highest constitutional level.
"The new Constitution of Kazakhstan is the culmination of these fundamental reforms. This is the fruit of our President's years of thought. A historical document that embodies the people's needs, demands, and hopes. Therefore, there is every reason to say that the New Constitution was written together with the people - a true People's Constitution. We must leave to future generations a Prosperous, Just Kazakhstan that every citizen would be proud of. This is a lofty dream that unites us all. Let's achieve that dream - a Just and Progressive Kazakhstan, together with our President," he said.
In his speech, State Counselor Yerlan Karin emphasized the importance of the New Constitution: "Kazakhstan has shown that in the future it aspires to be among the countries whose citizens are educated, knowledgeable in science, rely on innovation, and have developed technology. Therefore, this Constitution will give a new impetus to the country's prosperity," he said.
Also speaking during the meeting were the Chairman of the "Auyl" party Serik Egizbayev, Chairman of the "Ak Zhol" Kazakhstan Democratic Party Azat Peruashev, Chairman of the "Respublica" party Aidarbek Kozhanazarov, Head of the faction of the People's Party of Kazakhstan in the Majilis Magerram Magerramov, and deputies of the Majilis, members of the faction of the "AMANAT" party Yerlan Sairov, Unzila Shapak and Sergey Ponomarev.
In addition, Dinara Shukizhanova, President of AgromashHoldingKZ JSC, Madi Myrzagarayev, Chairman of the Republican Bar Association, Marat Shibutov, political scientist, and Rauan Kenzhekhanuly, President of the Kazakh Language International Society, shared their positions.
The participants of the meeting noted that the draft New Constitution fully complies with the strategic direction aimed at further modernizing the political system of the state, strengthening social guarantees, supporting entrepreneurship, and developing science, culture, and national values.
It was also noted that the state has passed an important stage on the path of institutional changes: the formula "Strong President - Influential Parliament - Accountable Government" is being strengthened, the Constitutional Court is functioning, illegally extracted assets are being returned to the state, the principle of fair distribution of national resources is being strengthened. All these decisions were based on the values of justice, equality and responsibility to future generations.
It was noted that the new Basic Law was adopted in response to profound changes in society and the emergence of a new generation with a renewed worldview, which places high demands on the state. At the heart of these expectations is the demand for honesty, the rule of law, respect for human dignity and guarantees of human rights. The new Constitution provides a clear and concrete response to these public demands.
It was also noted that the draft Basic Law was developed in the framework of an open and extensive dialogue with society. The work of the Constitutional Commission was carried out publicly, live on air, and with constant feedback. During this time, 10 thousand proposals and applications were received from citizens, experts, professional associations, and representatives of various industries. Each of them was considered and taken into account during the development of the document.
All the speakers stressed the importance of uniting leading forces in society to promote the historical significance of the adoption of the New Constitution among the general public at this crucial time.
The coalition included central and regional structures of political parties, republican public associations, deputies of Parliament and Maslikhat, representatives of the scientific and expert community, cultural and sports figures, trade union organizations, industry associations and youth associations.
The Coalition members will soon begin explanatory work in the regions. In order to ensure open dialogue and informed participation of citizens on the eve of the upcoming referendum, it is planned to hold meetings with labor collectives, expert communities and residents. Remote settlements will not be left out of the picture. Because the voice of every Kazakhstani citizen is very important.
