A meaningful meeting with local residents was held in the Kokbulak residential area of the Abay district of Shymkent. The meeting, organized in a new cultural center built at the request of residents, widely discussed the development of the country, the essence of the Constitution, and the socio-economic prosperity of the district.
Chairman of the Shymkent City Maslikhat, member of the Constitutional Commission, Bakhadyr Narymbetov, explained to the audience the main principles of the new Constitution. He noted that the Constitution gives special priority to the protection of human rights and freedoms. He also emphasized that high-quality education, the development of science and technology, and the expansion of digital opportunities are important directions of state policy. He expressed confidence in their potential, noting that the achievements of young people in the fields of science and sports determine the viability of the strategic direction chosen by the country.
During the meeting, the issue of religion in the education system was also raised. Residents asked questions about the content of religious studies in schools. Bakhadyr Narymbetov clearly explained that the subject of religious studies introduces religion from a scientific perspective, and teaching religious teachings is a separate direction. He also noted that Kazakhstani schools adhere to the principle of secularism and religious preaching is not carried out in the educational process.
Along with political modernization, the socio-economic development of the district is also being systematically implemented. Akim of Abay district Shakir Sultankhan focused on the work done and future tasks.
During the meeting, residents freely raised issues of concern to them and received concrete answers to their suggestions and opinions. The meeting ended with a positive outcome. The active participation of the residents of the district, regardless of their indifference to social changes, determines the effectiveness of the ongoing reforms.
