Senator Ainur Argynbekova participated in the OSCE PA winter meeting in Vienna and presented Kazakhstan's initiatives

Senator Ainur Argynbekova, Special Representative of the OSCE Parliamentary Assembly on Climate Change and Deputy Head of the Delegation of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the OSCE PA took part in the 25th winter session of the Assembly.
During the session, the Senator addressed a joint meeting of the three General Committees of the OSCE PA, where she briefed participants on the large-scale constitutional reform in Kazakhstan, which provides for a transition to a unicameral Parliament, the introduction of the position of Vice-President and the establishment of the People's Council of Kazakhstan as the highest consultative and advisory body.
“The draft new Constitution enshrines the principles of the rule of law, environmental responsibility and digital rights, proclaiming human rights and freedoms as the highest value of the state,” Ainur Argynbekova emphasized.
As Special Representative, she also delivered her statement at the Second Committee on Economic Affairs, Science, Technology and Environment, highlighting the upcoming regional environmental summit in Astana initiated by the President of Kazakhstan H.E.Mr.Kassym-Jomart Tokayev.
At the margins of the Assembly, meetings were held with OSCE PA President Pere Pons, Assembly Special Representative for Central Asia Angelos Syrigos, Chairman of the OSCE PA Second Committee Azay Guliyev and OSCE Coordinator on economic and environmental activites Bakyt Dzhusupov, to whom official invitations to the Regional Environmental Summit were presented.
In addition, bilateral conversations were held with Speaker of the Austrian National Council Walter Rosenkranz, Member of the Finnish Parliament Ville Skinnari, Member of the Slovak Parliament Michal Bartek, Member of the Croatian Sabor Zvonimir Troskot, as well as Head of the Parliamentary Delegation of Türkiye to the OSCE PA Selami Altınok and TURKPA Secretary General Ramil Hasanov.
The head of Kazakh delegation also participated in a number of thematic events, including a meeting of the Silk Road Group, aimed at developing international transport corridors and strengthening interregional cooperation.
