Buiratau National Park is one of the key protected natural areas of Central Kazakhstan, established to conserve the steppe and forest-steppe ecosystems of the Saryarka region. The park was created in 2011 on the border of the Akmola and Karaganda regions.
Its landscapes include the ancient Ereymentau mountains, granite outcrops, vast steppes, and small forest ecosystems. More than 450 plant species grow here, while wildlife includes argali sheep, roe deer, wild boar, wolves, and many other steppe animals.
Buiratau is also an important habitat for rare birds of prey. The park plays a significant role in nature conservation, scientific research, and biodiversity protection.
