International Cooperation in Tax Administration

Astana, March 10, 2026 — A meeting between the Chairman of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan and representatives of the World Bank was held at the State Revenue Committee.
During the meeting, the parties discussed joint work under the technical assistance program implemented by the World Bank for Kazakhstan. This program helps improve the tax system and increase the efficiency of tax collection. The parties discussed the objectives of the cooperation, the expected results, and the areas in which further work will continue. They also considered what kind of expert support World Bank specialists can provide.
The participants of the meeting also reviewed international experience in tax administration. In particular, they discussed practices from other countries that may be useful for the further development and modernization of Kazakhstan’s tax system.
Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in continuing cooperation. Representatives of the World Bank noted that in recent years Kazakhstan has made significant progress in developing tax administration and implementing modern digital solutions.
Work under the technical assistance program will continue. It is aimed at the further development of the tax system and the implementation of best international practices.
