The regional championship in Kazakh national wrestling among younger cadets born in 2011–2012 has started in our district. This important competition, aimed at promoting national sports, is held annually as a tradition.

This year, 18 teams from 7 districts of the Syr region are participating, with around 170 young athletes competing. The tournament is scheduled for two days, taking place from March 17 to 18.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Akim of the district, Dias Moldabayev, who highlighted the importance of Kazakh wrestling:

“Kazakh wrestling is a unique sport that reflects the national spirit of our people. Holding this competition during the Nauryz holiday further enhances its significance. Young people’s interest in sports and their choice of a healthy lifestyle are the guarantees of our country’s bright future. I wish all young athletes success and outstanding victories,” he said.

He also expressed gratitude to the organizers, coaches, and all supporters contributing to the high-level organization of the event.

It should be noted that the winners and prizewinners of the competition will receive qualification spots for the Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
