On 19–20 March 2026, Yerbol Myrzabosynov, Minister of Tourism and Sport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, made a working visit to Georgia.

During the visit, Y. Myrzabosynov held a meeting with Shalva Gogoladze, the Georgian Minister of Sport, during which the parties discussed current issues and prospects for the development of Kazakhstani-Georgian cooperation in the field of sport.

In particular, the Kazakhstani side informed the Georgian partners about the international sporting events planned to be held in the Republic of Kazakhstan. Particular attention was paid to preparations for the ‘Games of the Future’, to be held from 29 July to 9 August this year, to which a Georgian delegation has been invited.

Meanwhile, as part of the visit’s programme, the Kazakhstani Minister took part in the Tbilisi Grand Slam international judo tournament, held in Tbilisi. Leading athletes from various countries, including the Kazakhstani national team, took part in the competition.

At the tournament, the Kazakhstani judokas demonstrated a high level of preparation and achieved excellent results. Nurkanat Serikbayev won the gold medal in the under-66kg weight category, whilst Talgat Orynbasar took bronze in the under-60kg category.
