On March 27, an event titled “National Values as the Foundation of the Nation’s Future” was held at the East Kazakhstan Regional Library for Childrenand and Youth.

During the event, trainer Arkhat Kiyalbekovich Khamitzhanov presented information to the guests about the golden eagle — a bird sacred to the Kazakh people and regarded as the king of birds of prey. He shared fascinating insights into its life both in the wild and alongside humans. He also introduced the audience to the ancient art of falconry (sayatkerlik), explaining the specifics of keeping, taming, training, and preparing a golden eagle for hunting.

The event was further enriched by a presentation from Azhar Rakhmetovna Toleukhanova, President of the East Kazakhstan Archery Federation, a promoter of revived traditions and national values, and widely known as the “steppe sniper.” She spoke about the techniques and intricacies of archery.

A particularly memorable moment for the guests was the performance by 10th-grade student Aman Temirbek, who independently mastered throat singing. He performed several pieces, allowing the audience to experience more deeply the richness of national art. His performance created a warm atmosphere and left a vivid impression on the audience.

A book exhibition titled “Eagle and Tazy: History and Heritage” was also organized for participants, featuring publications about golden eagles, Kazakh sighthounds (tazy) and tobet dogs, as well as materials on traditional hunting practices, national games, customs, and traditions.

The event aimed to introduce the younger generation to the traditions of their ancestors, foster a love for nature, and strengthen respect for national cultural heritage.
