Kazakhstan Delivers Strong Performance at the «Aphrodite Cup 2026» in Athens

Athens, March 22, 2026 - The XI International Rhythmic Gymnastics Tournament «Aphrodite Cup 2026» took place in the capital of Greece from March 20 to 22, 2026, bringing together athletes from 38 countries.
The National Team of the Republic of Kazakhstan demonstrated a high level of preparation and won a total of 17 medals, including 9 gold, 5 silver, and 3 bronze.
In individual events, Kazakhstani gymnasts secured 10 medals (3 gold, 4 silver, and 3 bronze), while in group routines they earned 7 medals (6 gold and 1 silver), confirming a high standard of both individual and team performance.
The performances of the Kazakhstani athletes were supported by compatriots residing in Greece, as well as Kazakhstani students and tourists attending the competition.
The Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in the Hellenic Republic took part in the event. Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Hellenic Republic, Mr. Timur Sultangozhin, attended the tournament and participated in the award ceremony, presenting medals to the Kazakhstani athletes.
In this regard, the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan also organized a cultural event on the occasion of Nauryz within the framework of the competition. Elements of Kazakh national culture, including traditional attire and national cuisine, were presented to the guests and participants. The initiative generated significant interest among attendees and contributed to the promotion of Kazakhstan’s cultural heritage abroad.
The successful performance of the Kazakhstan national team at the «Aphrodite Cup 2026» serves as a clear demonstration of the strong potential of the country’s rhythmic gymnastics school and contributes to the further strengthening of sports as well as cultural and humanitarian ties between Kazakhstan and Greece.
