From 30 March to 1 April 2026, the 111^th session of the Finance Committee of the World Customs Organization (WCO) was held in Brussels, Kingdom of Belgium.

        As a member of the WCO Finance Committee, the Republic of Kazakhstan took an active part in the session with the following delegation: Mr. Yermek Kozhabergenov, Head of the International Cooperation Department of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and Mr. Erik Orazov, Expert of the International Cooperation Department of the State Revenue Committee of the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

      During the session, the Finance Committee members considered a wide range of issues related to the financial activities of the WCO, including:

• the results of budget execution for previous financial years;
• the current financial situation of the Organization;
• the budget parameters for the 2026/2027 financial year.

      Particular attention was given to discussions on ensuring sustainable financing, as well as the implementation of the WCO Modernization Plan.

     Delegates emphasized the importance of enhancing the efficiency of financial resource utilization, including more effective management of investment assets and reserves.

     During the discussions, the Republic of Kazakhstan expressed its support for a balanced and gradual approach to financing matters, highlighting the importance of taking into account the budgetary capacities and interests of WCO Members.

     The Kazakh delegation reaffirmed its readiness for open dialogue and continued constructive engagement on all agenda items, emphasizing the importance of a collective approach in decision-making.

     The participation of the Republic of Kazakhstan contributes to strengthening its role in international customs cooperation and to shaping decisions on key financial matters of the WCO.
