A meeting of the regional coordination headquarters, established under the Akimat of the Akmola Region, was held to implement the regional plan for organizing health improvement, recreation, and employment of schoolchildren during the summer holidays for 2024–2026.

The event was attended by government bodies, heads of public and private children’s camps, and representatives of non-governmental organizations (the Pedagogical Unit “Duman”). The meeting was moderated by Ainagul Baltasheva, Head of the Education Department of the Akmola Region.

It was noted that, in order to ensure children’s access to recreation and health improvement during the current summer season, 14 children’s health camps are planned to operate in the region. To expand coverage, 226 school-based day camps, with and without meals, will function at general education schools. In total, around 132,000 students in grades 1–10 are planned to be covered by various forms of recreation, health improvement, and employment during the summer period.

In addition, during the summer period, children’s employment will be organized in schools, in 47 supplementary education institutions, and in 71 organizations implementing the state order for additional education (labor, tourism, intellectual, and creative activities).

During the meeting, Serik Omarkhanov, Head of the Department of Sanitary and Epidemiological Control of the Akmola Region, delivered a report. He spoke about the procedure for obtaining sanitary and epidemiological conclusions for educational and recreational organizations, as well as the challenges faced by children’s health camps in 2025.

It was emphasized that special attention is paid to children’s safety during the summer period. Specialists from the Department of Emergency Situations conduct inspections of children’s health centers and nearby water bodies.

Following the meeting, recommendations were provided to the responsible government bodies and organizations to ensure high-quality, safe, and accessible summer recreation and employment for schoolchildren in the region.
