Kazakhstan and India Advance Strategic Cooperation
08.04.2026 18:52:37 203New Delhi, 7 April 2026 - H.E. Azamat Yeskarayev, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to the Republic of India held a meeting with Chief of Protocol in the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India.
The sides noted that on 22 February 2026, Kazakhstan and India marked the 34th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. It was emphasized that bilateral ties go far beyond formal diplomacy and are rooted in deep historical, cultural, and civilizational connections.
The Kazakh diplomat подчеркнул that India is a key strategic partner of Kazakhstan in South Asia and an important global actor. He expressed appreciation to the Indian side for the excellent organization of the first visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov to India within the framework of the “India AI Impact Summit 2026” held on 19-20 February 2026.
The Kazakh side congratulated India on its BRICS presidency in 2026 and informed about upcoming high-level bilateral engagements within this framework.
During the meeting, the sides also discussed the organization of mutual visits at the highest and high levels during the current year.
Particular attention was paid to issues related to further strengthening diplomatic engagement and developing the institutional and infrastructural framework of bilateral cooperation.
In addition, the sides touched upon certain consular and organizational matters of mutual interest.
At the conclusion of the meeting, both sides reaffirmed their mutual commitment to further deepening the strategic partnership and agreed to continue active dialogue across all key areas of bilateral cooperation.
