Astana, April 8, 2026 – President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev welcomes the achievement of an agreement on a full ceasefire and the establishment of a truce in the Middle East.

The agreements were reached through the mediation of Prime Minister of Pakistan Shehbaz Sharif and Chief of Army Staff of Pakistan, Field Marshal Asim Munir.

The Head of State notes that the agreement became possible due to the goodwill and wisdom of the President of the United States Donald Trump, the leadership of the Islamic Republic of Iran, as well as all countries involved in the military conflict.

The President of Kazakhstan expresses hope that the achieved truce will be long-term, emphasizing its importance for strengthening international security, developing global trade and ensuring sustainable economic growth.
