New York, September 21, 2026 – As part of his working visit to the United States, Special Representative of the President of Kazakhstan Erzhan Kazykhan met with representatives of the U.S. expert and business communities. The event was jointly hosted by the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the United States and the Atlantic Council.

The discussion focused on Kazakhstan’s political and economic transformation, as well as prospects for further advancing the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between Kazakhstan and the United States.

Speaking at the event, Erzhan Kazykhan highlighted Kazakhstan’s key economic modernization priorities, including the development of transport and digital infrastructure and the country’s deeper integration into global value chains. He also addressed opportunities to expand cooperation with the United States in energy, critical minerals, artificial intelligence and advanced technologies, as well as prospects for the further development of the Middle Corridor.

The Special Representative noted that Kazakhstan, as the world’s largest producer of uranium and one of the key suppliers of this resource to the U.S. market, seeks to expand cooperation with the United States across the entire value chain – from extraction and processing to the production of high-value-added goods, technology transfer, and industrial cooperation.

Turning to Kazakhstan’s political modernization, Ambassador Kazykhan highlighted the institutional reforms being implemented under President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev’s concept of a “Strong President – Influential Parliament – Accountable Government,” as well as the key provisions of the new Constitution adopted through a nationwide referendum. He also presented the “Taza Kazakhstan” initiative as an important element in fostering a culture of civic responsibility and environmental stewardship.
