Topics related to the development of transport and logistics cooperation between Kazakhstan and Georgia were discussed

The Minister of Transport of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Nurlan Sauranbayev, held a meeting with the Minister of Economy and Sustainable Development of Georgia, Mariam Kvrivishvili.

During the talks, the parties discussed ways of deepening trade and economic cooperation between Kazakhstan and Georgia.

Particular attention was paid to cooperation in the transport and logistics sector. The parties emphasised the importance of coordinating joint efforts to attract additional freight flows and develop transport infrastructure, which will help to strengthen cooperation and enhance the competitiveness of the Middle Corridor.

The effective work of the joint venture between the railways of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, which China joined in 2025, was noted. According to the meeting participants, this cooperation plays an important role in ensuring the stable operation of the route and improving the coordination of freight transport.

During the meeting, the Georgian side presented a number of strategic infrastructure projects, including the Anaklia deep-water port project, as well as large-scale investments in the modernisation of the railway’s locomotive and rolling stock fleet.

Following the meeting, the parties confirmed their interest in further developing mutually beneficial cooperation in the transport sector.
