The Department of the Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology in the Turkestan region, during inspection activities, has identified violations of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan "On Ensuring Uniformity of Measurements".
The inspection revealed that two communal enterprises in the region were using control metering devices (electricity meters), ammeters, and voltmeters that had not undergone mandatory metrological verification.
According to the legislation, all devices used in mutual settlements between service providers and consumers, as well as in ensuring industrial safety, must have a valid verification certificate. The use of unverified devices distorts actual consumption figures and calls into question the safety of electrical network operation.
The accuracy of electrical measuring instruments is not just a matter of correct numbers on bills but also a guarantee of technical safety.
"Inaccuracies in the operation of voltmeters and ammeters can lead to incorrect assessment of the load on electrical networks, increasing the risk of emergency situations. In turn, the use of unverified meters violates consumers' rights to receive accurate information about the volume of resources consumed," emphasizes the Department.
Based on the inspection results, these enterprises have been held administratively liable. Administrative fines totaling 3,892,500 tenge have been imposed on the entities, and orders to rectify the violations have been issued.
