Starting from April 13, 2026, the public service for issuing and extending work permits for labour migrants in Kazakhstan will no longer be available at Citizen Service Centers, and applications can now be submitted exclusively online.
The service for issuing and extending work permits for labour migrants has been fully transitioned to an online format and is available only via the eGov.kz portal. This update eliminates the need to visit Citizen Service Centers and significantly simplifies the application process.
Foreign nationals can now apply for or extend work permits for employment with private individuals in household settings within Kazakhstan entirely online. Users are no longer required to manually upload certain documents. For example, medical certificates and insurance data are automatically retrieved from government information systems. This reduces application processing time and minimizes the risk of errors.
“Currently, all the necessary integrations have been successfully implemented on the eGov.kz portal for issuing work permits to labour migrants, including automated verification of medical examinations, insurance, and tax payments. Given the rapid transition of public services to an online format and their delivery through eGov.kz, ensuring round-the-clock access for both individuals and legal entities, starting from April 13, this service will no longer be provided through Citizen Service Centers. Applications will now be submitted exclusively online via eGov.kz or migration.enbek.kz”, marked Rostislav Konyashkin, First Vice Minister of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Decisions on the issuance or extension of permits are made by local executive authorities of districts and cities of regional significance in coordination with territorial internal affairs bodies. Permits are issued for a period ranging from one to twelve months within the established quota for attracting labour migrants. Additional information on accessing this public service is available on the eGov.kz portal and its official social media channels.
The update was implemented through the joint efforts of the Public Services Committee under the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Development of the Republic of Kazakhstan, National Information Technologies JSC, Government for Citizens, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Ministry of Labour and Social Protection, and the State Credit Bureau.
