On April 14, 2026, the East Kazakhstan Regional Scientific and Methodological Center for Informatization and Development of Education "Örken" of the VKO Department of Education held a regional seminar for English teachers from the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk, as well as from the Glubokovsky and Ulansky districts.

The event was aimed at enhancing the professional competence of educators and developing practice-oriented exchange of experience. Partner support in organizing the seminar was provided by the international publishing house "Macmillan," which presented a relevant topic: "Beyond the Book: Defining and Teaching Functional Literacy in the 21^st Century" - "Innovative Approaches in Teaching Beyond the Book: Defining and Teaching Functional Literacy in the 21st Century," dedicated to the methodology of teaching English for English teachers of state and private schools in the East Kazakhstan region.

As part of the seminar, participants were given a practical lesson on teaching for teachers, methodological approaches in teaching English, and a presentation of the publishing house's textbooks.

The keynote speaker was Yevgenia Verba, who presented modern educational methodologies aimed at harmoniously combining theory and practice, and also shared advanced pedagogical experience.

During the seminar, special attention was paid to interactive learning formats, the use of digital platforms and tools that contribute to increasing student engagement.

Following the event, feedback was conducted. Participants were awarded certificates and commemorative materials from the organizers.

The seminar received positive feedback from the teaching community and confirmed its relevance as an effective platform for the professional development of teachers in the region.

Approximately 100 educators participated in the seminar.
