We would like to inform you about the current procedure for the temporary import of international transportation vehicles in order to ensure favorable conditions for international transportation and the development of the transit potential of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Temporary import of vehicles of international transportation is carried out according to the Customs Code of the Eurasian Economic Union and the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The specified customs procedure provides for the possibility of importing vehicles registered outside the Eurasian Economic Union without paying customs duties and taxes, provided they are used only for international transportation.

Vehicles of international transportation include trucks, buses, trailers and semi-trailers, railway rolling stock, as well as ships and aircraft.

Please note that when applying the temporary importation procedure, the following conditions must be strictly observed:

the use of vehicles only for international transportation of goods and passengers;

prohibition on the transfer of vehicles into the possession or use of third parties in the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;

mandatory export of vehicles outside the customs territory after completing transportation within the established time limits.

Vehicles are subject to customs control upon entry into the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Carriers are required to submit documents confirming the registration of the vehicle, as well as the international nature of the transportation.

The Customs authorities monitor compliance with the conditions of temporary importation, including checking documents, inspecting vehicles and monitoring the duration of their stay.

If the established requirements are violated, the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan provides for liability, including the accrual of customs duties, application of administrative measures and the confiscation of vehicles.

Compliance with the requirements of temporary importation is a prerequisite for ensuring the legality of international transportation and the effective functioning of the transport and logistics system of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
