Late payments in compulsory health insurance: why it is important to meet deadlines

The Social Health Insurance Fund recalls the timely payment of contributions and deductions - this is the basis for continuous access of citizens to medical care in the compulsory health insurance system.

The status "insured" is formed only if there are continuous payments for the last 12 months. In case of payment interruptions, the status is suspended, which limits access to medical care in the compulsory health insurance system.

Contributions and deductions must be paid monthly. Control over their completeness and timeliness is carried out by state revenue bodies. In case of violation of the deadlines, a penalty is charged, and tax administration measures are applied.

The State Revenue Committee, together with the Social Health Insurance Fund, constantly monitors compliance with obligations to pay contributions and contributions to the compulsory health insurance system.

At the end of 2025, numerous cases of late payment of contributions and deductions among employers, individual entrepreneurs and persons engaged in private practice were recorded.

To avoid restrictions and maintain access to medical care, it is recommended to check in advance for unpaid periods and, if necessary, pay for missed months.
