Astana-Madrid, 16 April 2026. An online meeting was held between the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kazakhstan and the Ministry of Health of the Kingdom of Spain, organized within the framework of the agreements reached following the visit of Vice Minister of Health A. Rustemova to Spain.

During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for bilateral cooperation in preventive medicine, family support, and the strengthening of primary health care (PHC). The Kazakh side expressed interest in learning from Spain’s experience in implementing preventive programs, intersectoral coordination, and modern approaches to promoting child health.

Particular attention was given to the development of PHC as the foundation of a sustainable healthcare system. The parties also highlighted the importance of cooperation within the Global Coalition on PHC, which Spain has joined in support of Kazakhstan’s initiative.

Following the meeting, both sides confirmed their mutual interest in further developing cooperation and continuing expert-level dialogue.
