On the sidelines of the Regional Ecological Summit in Astana, the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev held a meeting with the President of Georgia, Mikheil Kavelashvili.
The parties discussed the current state and prospects for further strengthening of Kazakh-Georgian relations.The Head of State emphasized that Georgia is an important and reliable partner of Kazakhstan in the South Caucasus and reaffirmed readiness to give a new qualitative impetus to bilateral cooperation.
The Presidents noted the steady positive dynamics of cooperation and emphasized the importance of expanding trade and economic ties.
The significance of implementing joint infrastructure and investment projects, expanding business contacts, as well as effectively utilizing the transit and transport potential of the two countries was highlighted.
During the meeting, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and Mikheil Kavelashvili also exchanged views on current issues on the global and regional agenda.
