KazAID Strengthens Cooperation in Healthcare

On April 24, 2026, KazAID Chairman of the Board A. Arystanov met with Masao Takahashi, Head of New Investors Division at GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) within his participation in the Regional Ecological Summit.
During the meeting, GAVI representatives have shared the information about the organization's activities and projects to improve access to new vaccines for people living in developing countries. The organization works to reduce child mortality, prevent diseases, and help overcome the consequences of pandemics and epidemics through immunization.
In turn, the Kazakh side expressed its readiness to interact with GAVI and develop constructive cooperation.

The Kazakh Agency for International Development “KazAID”is an official development assistance (ODA) implementing agency established by the Government of Kazakhstan in 2020. The agency’s mission is to implement state policy in the field of ODA, promoting development and sustainable growth in partner countries, showcasing Kazakhstan’s achievements in various fields, and facilitating the exchange of experience and the establishment of contacts between specialists from different countries.
GAVI (Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunization) is a partnership of private and government organizations aimed at increasing access to childhood vaccination in developing countries. GAVI was established in 2000, amid deteriorating vaccine distribution mechanisms.
The GAVI alliance includes members from several developed countries, the WHO, UNICEF, the World Bank, vaccine developers and manufacturers from various countries, research and technical agencies, public organizations, and various philanthropists. GAVI, together with the Vaccine Fund, supplies vaccines to more than 70 countries, including many in Africa and Asia.
