On May 14, 2026, the IT festival "New Generation" was held in Ust-Kamenogorsk at the venue of the East Kazakhstan Regional Philharmonic, involving school students, college and university students.

The exhibition featured and discussed new innovative technologies in the field of education, and students exchanged experiences in developing IT projects.

Exhibition participants presented their works in 4 sectors - "Maker Fest", "Junior Skills", "Robotime", "ClusterPro".

During the official part, Deputy Akim of the region Y.Zh. Nurgaliyev addressed the exhibition participants with a welcoming speech.

The winners of the regional championship "SKILLS FOR GEEKS 2026" were awarded by Deputy Akim of East Kazakhstan Region Y.Zh. Nurgaliyev. For winning 3rd place, the team from Glubokovsky District (10+) and the team from Zaisan District (14+) received a set of bronze medals, trophies, and valuable prizes - smartwatches. For winning 2nd place, the team from Ust-Kamenogorsk city (10+ and 14+) received sets of silver medals, trophies, and valuable prizes - headphones. The combined team from Ridder city (10+) and the team from Shemonaikha District (14+) became the champions and received sets of gold medals and valuable prizes - smart speakers.

The winners of the competition among teachers of the region "IT-Ūstaz 2026" were congratulated by the Head of Education of East Kazakhstan Region Kuat Barysovich Okasov. For 3rd place, wireless headphones were presented to Zhanna Tolegenovna Sagandykova, a teacher at the RSE "Regional Specialized IT School-Lyceum" of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region. For 2nd place, a laptop was presented to Ivan Vyacheslavovich Samoilov, a teacher at the RSE "Opytnopolskaya Secondary School" of the Education Department for Glubokovsky District of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region. The competition winner, Mөldir Sailaubekkyzy Älkenova, a teacher at the RSE "Secondary School No. 47" of the Education Department for Ust-Kamenogorsk city of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region, received a valuable prize - an all-in-one PC.

Based on the festival results, independent experts determined the best IT projects. The "Audience Choice Award" was determined through online voting by festival visitors.

The Head of Education of East Kazakhstan Region, Kuat Barysovich Okasov, solemnly presented the festival winners with diplomas and certificates for valuable prizes. The competition winners are:

Grand Prix - project "Smart Current: Creating Interactive Postcards and a Multi-Sensory Educational Kit Based on Material Conductivity", Ust-Kamenogorsk city, RSE "Regional Specialized IT School-Lyceum" of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region, Yegor Bunykov, prize - laptop.

1st Place - project "Smart Aul: Innovative Solutions for Rural Areas", Tarbagatay District, RSE "Secondary School named after Abai", Kymbat Bauyrzhanova, Yeraly Tashenov, prize - tablet.

2nd Place - project "Creating a Model of Small CubeSat Satellites: KAZ-FireWatch AI", Zaisan District, RSE "Kensai Secondary School", Perizat Zhunisbekova, Inabat Sayankyzy, prize - smartphone.

3rd Place - project "Digital System for Early Diagnosis of Type II Diabetes Based on Biomarkers and Artificial Intelligence Technologies", Ust-Kamenogorsk city, RSE "Regional Specialized IT School-Lyceum" of the Education Department of East Kazakhstan Region, Kirill Kondrashov, Alikhan Barambaev, prize - headphones.

Audience Choice Award was won by the project "Development of an Intelligent System for Monitoring Student Book Reading", Altai District, RSE "Secondary School No. 7 of Altai City", Anastasia Lapina, Prize - portable speaker.
