Today, a regular meeting was held under the chairmanship of District Akim Zhandos Yerkinbek. The agenda included issues related to the progress of spring field works.
During the meeting, discussions focused on the allocation of crop areas for 2026 across the district, water supply, implementation of the corn sowing plan, and the introduction of water-saving technologies.
The district head noted that “For our district, agricultural sowing activities are of great importance,” emphasizing that the timely and high-quality execution of spring field works remains the main priority.
This year, it is planned to cultivate agricultural crops on 24,057 hectares across the district. Of this, 10,700 hectares will be allocated to rice cultivation. Due to water shortages, the meeting emphasized the need to reduce rice cultivation areas and increase the planting of less water-intensive crops, especially corn. In this regard, Zhandos Yerkinbek instructed the district department of agriculture and land relations to ensure the flawless implementation of this work.
In addition, issues related to residents’ vegetable gardening activities were discussed. Relevant authorities were tasked with coordinating land preparation, agricultural machinery, and water supply for residents.
Another pressing issue in agriculture remains irrigation water supply. The condition of irrigation canals and this year’s water volume were discussed, and specific tasks were assigned to responsible sector officials.
At the conclusion of the meeting, relevant departments, township and rural administrations were instructed to ensure the full implementation of the corn sowing plan, intensify efforts to introduce new water-saving technologies, and carry out all other necessary works efficiently and with high quality.
