The Department of the Penal correction system in the Abai region hosted a training seminar-meeting for the heads of detachments of the department of educational and socio-psychological work among convicts of correctional institutions in the Abai region.

          The event was devoted to an additional study of the amendments and additions made to the legislative acts of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The seminar was chaired by the Deputy Head of the Department, Colonel of Justice Tleubergen Konekbayev.

           The main purpose of the meeting was a systematic explanation of innovations in current legislation, as well as an increase in the level of legal competence of the middle management staff.

        During the seminar, key changes in the regulatory framework affecting the activities of squad leaders were considered in detail, attention was focused on compliance with legal requirements and personal responsibility of officials.

            As part of the program, the participants were presented with presentation materials on the application of regulatory legal acts in their official activities, and a video about the work of institutions was shown.

           Special attention is paid to the practical aspects of implementing the updated standards in daily work with convicts.

           — Modern requirements for the organization of educational and socio-psychological work imply a high level of legal literacy of employees. Such seminars allow us to develop common approaches to the application of legislation and improve the efficiency of work in institutions," said Abai Zukhra Toktamysova, head of the department of educational and socio—psychological work among prisoners of the DUIS in the region.

            At the end of the seminar, the participants discussed problematic issues, received answers to topics of interest, and summed up the work. The event ended with a collective photo session.

             Conducting such training events helps to strengthen legal discipline and form a unified practice of applying legislation in institutions of the regional penal system.
