On May 18, 2026, a grand opening ceremony was held for the regional professional skills championship, which brought together students from colleges in the East Kazakhstan region. This championship is one of the important events in the field of technical and vocational education and is aimed at developing the region's human resource potential, as well as enhancing the prestige of working professions among young people.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Deputy Akim of the East Kazakhstan region, Yerbol Zholdaspekovich Nurgaliyev. In his speech, he emphasized the special importance of highly qualified specialists for the sustainable development of the country's economy. He also noted that such championships make a significant contribution to the development of young people's professional competencies, the realization of their creative and practical potential, and the popularization of working professions.

From May 18 to 22, 2026, college students from the region will demonstrate their knowledge and professional skills in various competencies. The competition stages will be held at Competence Centers and leading colleges in the city of Ust-Kamenogorsk. For the participants, this is not only a platform to showcase their abilities but also an important stage for exchanging experience and professional development.

The competition entries will be evaluated by qualified regional experts—representatives of educational organizations, industry specialists, and members of professional communities. This ensures the openness and objectivity of the evaluation process.

The regional championship is an important platform aimed at supporting talented youth, developing the technical and vocational education system, and strengthening cooperation between educational organizations and employers.
