Budapest, April 17, 2026 – An informational event titled “Beyond Your Scholarship: Discovering and Using New Opportunities” was held at the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Hungary for Kazakh students studying in Hungary. The event aimed to raise awareness of academic and professional development opportunities available beyond scholarship programmes.

At the beginning of the event, the Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, Abzal Saparbekuly, highlighted the growing range of opportunities available to students today and encouraged them to actively engage in academic and professional communities during their studies abroad.

This was followed by a presentation by Luis Omar Calva, representative of the Association of Hungarian PhD and DLA Candidates (DOSZ), who introduced the organization’s activities and emphasized its role in supporting PhD and DLA candidates, as well as in strengthening international academic networks.

In addition, Zairagul Zhaketai, the Kazakh representative of the association, provided information on academic opportunities available to students and placed particular emphasis on short- and long-term academic mobility programmes (Pannonia, Erasmus+ and CEEPUS).

The event concluded with a Q&A session, during which participants received additional information and had the opportunity to exchange views.

The meeting served as a valuable platform for exchange, contributing to the strengthening of academic cooperation and supporting the professional development of Kazakh students in Hungary.
