Kazakhstan and Hungary Discuss Development of Cooperation in the Field of Dairy Cattle Breeding

Budapest, 17 April 2026 – Representatives of the Zhangir Khan West Kazakhstan Agrarian Technical University and the Scientific and Production Center of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Medicine, together with the Republican Chamber of Dairy and Combined Cattle Breeds “QazaqSut,” held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan to Hungary, Abzal Saparbekuly, during a working visit to Budapest.

The participation of scientific and educational organizations ensured a comprehensive approach to discussing issues related to the development of the dairy sector, including the integration of science, practice, and sectoral governance.

During the meeting, key directions for the development of dairy cattle breeding in the Republic of Kazakhstan were considered, including attracting investment to the sector, developing breeding and selection work and introducing genomic technologies, importing high-yield pedigree cattle from European Union countries, as well as transferring advanced technologies and exchanging experience with European partners.

Particular attention was paid to the formation of an effective sectoral infrastructure, including the development of the scientific base, training of personnel, and the introduction of digital solutions in herd management and breeding.

The parties discussed practical aspects of the implementation of international projects, including veterinary requirements, logistics of supplies, and legal support of transactions related to the import of pedigree cattle.

Following the meeting, mutual interest in expanding cooperation between Kazakhstan and European countries in the field of dairy cattle breeding was confirmed. An agreement was reached to continue cooperation within the framework of sectoral and scientific-technological initiatives.
