At a Government meeting chaired by Prime Minister of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov, issues of aviation sector development and digitalization, as well as the quality of facility construction in the regions were discussed. The region's akim, Murat Ergeshbaev, participated via a selector mode and delivered a report on the current operations of the "Korkyt Ata Airport".
To recall, in 2024, with the support of the Head of State and the Government, a new passenger terminal of the "Korkyt Ata Airport", meeting international standards, was commissioned in the city of Kyzylorda. Today, the modern airport, capable of providing quality service to over 250 passengers simultaneously, handles 28 flights per week.
"Developing passenger transportation in the region is one of the main tasks. By April of this year, over 63 thousand passengers have been dispatched from 'Korkyt Ata Airport', which is an increase of 58.9 percent compared to last year. Furthermore, a digital management system has been implemented at the terminal, meaning all operations and processes can be carried out automatically. Recently, we signed a memorandum with 'Vana Holding' company on transferring 'Korkyt Ata Airport' to trust management. In this way, a logistics hub conforming to international standards is being formed.
A special economic zone has been established near the airport. This important project is intended to give a new impetus to the socio-economic development of our region",- said the region's akim. At the meeting following the Government session, the regional head assigned a number of tasks to those responsible for the passenger transportation sector. Also, the meeting discussed the region's main socio-economic indicators based on the results of four months, with a report delivered by the head of the economy and finance department, Saken Myrzabek. Murat Nalkhozhauly gave strict instructions to district akims who showed low indicators in terms of industrial and manufacturing industry volume.
The meeting assigned specific tasks to responsible leaders regarding summarizing the academic year, ensuring student safety, and stabilizing prices for socially significant food products.
